Remembering David Chan, Beloved Dog Lover

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and community,

It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden loss of our beloved David Chan, who tragically passed away on Thanksgiving morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking his dog, Copper. As we come to terms with this devastating loss, we are creating this page to help cover the funeral expenses and offer support to his wife, Winnie, as she navigates this incredibly difficult time.

Remembering Uncle David:

Many of you knew my Uncle David as the hardworking owner and head chef of Dragon House Chinese Restaurant in Edgewater, MD, where he and his wife, Winnie, poured their hearts into their family business. He was a constant presence, never taking vacations and always dedicated to serving his community with delicious meals. Even after retiring, Uncle David continued to support the restaurant by sharing his knowledge with the new owners. His commitment to his family, work, and community was unwavering.

Uncle David was also known for his lifelong passion for dogs, particularly Rottweilers. As a breeder, dog show handler, and AKC judge, he dedicated countless hours to his dogs, often walking them in the morning around the Naval Academy and caring for them with love and devotion. He was proud of his champion dogs and their puppies, and he mentored many in the dog world. His generosity of spirit and willingness to share his knowledge made him a respected figure among fellow dog enthusiasts.

Honoring Uncle David’s Legacy:

In this time of loss, we are turning to our friends and community for support. The funds raised will help cover funeral costs and provide some relief to my Aunt Winnie as she navigates this unexpected hardship. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated.

Uncle David’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched—whether through his work at Dragon House, his passion for Rottweilers, or the kindness he showed to everyone he met. His family, friends, and all who knew him will forever cherish his memory.

Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts and for helping to honor Uncle David’s life in this meaningful way.

With gratitude,
Mabelle (Niece) and the Chan Family
