Remembering David's life of Adventure

Donation protected
With great zest for life and excitement, David Wilson was living an adventurous life in Hawaii. Six months ago, he decided to pick up and move to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. He continued his career as a master of carpentry. He enjoyed golfing as much as possible with friends from all over the United States. He went on many hikes, and enjoyed turtle watching on the beach, sunrises, sunsets, and adventures all over the island, including the area where Jurassic Park was filmed.

As an extrovert, David had many friends and continued to meet people and extend a helping hand when needed. His friendly, funny, kind and witty sense of humor will be remembered through his contagious smile and recollection his jokes that were on repeat for years. For years, David coached baseball and football, creating teams that were successful all the while enjoying mentoring and coaching youth through their adulthood. He had a passion for adventure and sports. He continued to play catch with anyone willing to throw a ball back to him. He was a talented carpenter and his work will be enjoyed by many homeowners for years to come.

Born to David and Mary Wilson (Meyer) in Spring Valley, Minnesota on May 23, 1965, it is with sadness that David's adventure came to pass after a cliff diving incident. On September 12, 2024, David was cliff diving at Shipwreck Beach when complications happened upon swimming back to shore. With care and love, his diving friends tried resuscitation until the ambulance arrived. We are forever grateful that he was surrounded by people that cared and did everything possible to save him.

A life celebration will be held at Bloomington Event Center (BEC) on Oct 18 from 4 - 8 pm in the Lower Knights Hall room. Several people will be telling stories of David throughout his life and then there will be open mic. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available. Let's celebrate David the way he lived!

With gratitude and love, his sons, Jalen and Levi Wilson, sisters, Dr. Lori (Gary) Simon, Heidi (Jeff) Woldmoe and brother, Ross Wilson!
