Remembering Ed McTeigue

On July 24, 2020, Edward Mcteigue, also known as Felix, passed away unexpectedly as he recovered from surgery. Ed was a beloved husband and father. He was also a gifted songwriter and musician - he wrote with passion and insight about life and love. If you've heard his music, you've felt it deeply.
Ed leaves behind his wife, Liz, and his beautiful children, Nora and Will. He is also survived by his mother, Joan McTeigue, and his siblings Alvina McMann and Frank McTeigue.
It is difficult to comprehend a world without Ed's voice and a world where he is not with Liz and their children. If you've visited Ed and Liz at their home in Vermont or at their apartment in the East Village and later Brooklyn, you were surrounded by warmth, love, music, and amazing home cooked meals.
This fund has been created for Ed's family as they cope with this unbearable loss.
One day, Liz hopes to start a scholarship fund in Ed's name. In 2015, Ed participated in a workshop for kids in inner city Boston called America SCORES. He was blown away by their talent: "The kids were amazing – the brilliance of it, the lyrics and the singing – it was incredible. This demographic is not represented at all. They sent me the tracks and I produced them and it turned out great. If they asked me to do it again I would do it in five seconds.” http://theshotgunseat.com/felix/
Liz would like to create this scholarship fund to support access to music programs for kids of all backgrounds.
This fund has been created by friends of Ed and Liz but all funds will go directly to his wife and children.
Ed will be greatly missed forever.
