Remembering Edwin Villanueva

Donation protected
My father, Edwin Donato Cortez Villanueva, unfortunately, passed away suddenly. He was an amazing father, hard-working co-worker, friend (one of my BEST Friends), a loving brother, and, of course, the favorite uncle according to his nieces and nephews. He was very caring, friendly, and respected amongst those who knew him. He was always there for people when they needed him and would go above and beyond to help others. My dad was a very enthusiastic and funny person, who was always willing to go on adventures with me by his side. My father was a great cook and his specialty was always Filipino food; I always looked forward to coming home so that I could enjoy his homecooked meals. I wasn't the only one who had the honor of tasting his food, but my friends and family did as well. He would always make sure everyone was well fed due to his hospitality and generous heart. He was very open-minded, especially when it came to my love of different types of music. Whenever I was stressed and away at college, I would always reach out to call him to receive his patience and honest advice. It hurts my heart to not hear his hearty laugh and feel his warm hugs. My dad was so young at heart and so appreciative of life. His life will be celebrated by friends & family and the memory of him will live on through those who knew him.
