Remembering Hank

Hank passed away due to complications in surgery in the afternoon on august 10th.

Hanky was a very loved one year old baby to his dad, Charlie. Charlie and Hank were inseparable and had the most special bond one can only wish for. Hank was like a dog, and so utterly bonded and devoted to his best friend. Charlie, my brother, is devastated and I am hoping to bring him comfort in such a painful time.

Hanky was a tank, and anyone who knows him knew that to be true and could see it in his fight to recover. After a month of regular visits to the 24 hour ER and an array of medication for phantom health issues, nothing seemed to be working. Hank became very ill almost over night, and after spending virtually 2 full days at the ER, he underwent an emergency surgery.

A complete fluke of uncommon intestinal issues affected him, ultimately causing him to pass post-surgery from complications. Even in recovery, Hanky fought as hard as he could to hug my brother and comfort him in exchanging goodbyes. Their love is unmatched, and my heart aches for my brother.

The only thing I can think to do to help in his healing is to ease the burden of Hank’s surgery and medical bills this past month.
