Remembering Jason “JJ” Sanchez

On the morning of December 20th, 2021, Jason Sanchez, known as JJ by friends and family, age 22, was sadly taken from us too soon. JJ was driving back to college near LA with his brother, Ernesto, and tragically got into a car accident. Ernesto survived, but was greatly injured and admitted to the hospital. JJ sadly did not make it.

 

JJ was attending Westcliff University, and was planning on graduating next year, as he had only one semester left. He was also devoted to playing baseball at Westcliff and was named Team Captain for the upcoming season. He loved baseball and had a passion to go pro, and no one doubted him for a second once we saw his dedication to make all his dreams come true.

 

Everyone that knew JJ loved him so much. He got along with everyone he met, and helped anyone that he could with whatever he had. His passing has left his family and friends with a void that will never heal, as we will never meet anyone like JJ again. JJ was a loving son to Jason and Sasha and brother to Ernesto, Aiyanna, Mickayla, Lina, and Nina. He was also made a new uncle just this year, and loved his nephew with his whole heart.

 

This GoFundMe was created to show love and support to the family he left behind. Donations will go toward funeral expenses to properly honor JJ’s life. We will also be putting any extra money towards a scholarship fund in JJ’s honor at each school he attended, so we can help student athletes who may be in need, and keep his legacy living on. It would reflect greatly on what an amazing and kind person JJ was, who wore his heart on his sleeve.
