Remembering Katy Goodwin
A few days before thanksgiving Katy was rushed to the emergency room running 104, 105 degree fevers and experiencing shortness of breath. Shortly thereafter she received the diagnosis of COVID-19. This was scary for all of us because she had multiple pre existing conditions including obesity, asthma, and new found kidney problems. On December 2 she was placed on a ventilator to help her breathe and to give her body a rest because she had been fighting so hard. Then the cascade of issues started: sepsis, kidney failure, and finally cardiac arrest on December 5th.
Katy was only 30 years old and had a lifetime ahead of her. This should not have happened. She was full of life. She loved her her family, especially her niece and nephew. She adored her emotional support dog Kara.
The family is requesting money to help with end of life care and funeral arrangements.
