Remembering Kimberly Statz: a dedicated wife and mother of 4

I’m Alyssa Huddleston, the daughter of Kimberly Statz. My mother passed away this last Friday, January 3rd. Her death was very sudden and unexpected. Our entire family is in pieces, given that my mom was the literal glue that held everything and everyone together. She was our rock, our confidant, and our absolute best friend. If you had the pleasure of knowing my mom, you’d know how devastating this is. Since as early as I can remember, she’s had her share of health problems — including battling cancer twice. However, despite enduring all the pain in the world for years and years, my mother’s strength never wavered. She was and still is the strongest and most remarkable woman I know. She would give the shirt off her back for anyone who she thought needed it more than her. She was loving, nurturing, funny, wise, loyal, smart, and a complete bad ass!

My mom’s health issues over the years has been a significant factor in our financial hardships, as well as the result of multiple denials of life insurance. I am not one to ask for much and tend to be someone who figures it out on their own, but this is different. I want to be able to give my mother the funeral service she deserves. My mom has put her blood, sweat, and tears into making sure everyone she loved was taken care of. Now it’s our family’s turn. Even a dollar helps, truly. It all adds up!
