Remembering Leon Fourie
Donation protected
On January 9th, 2021 the Fourie family suddenly and unexpectedly lost their beloved father Leon at home, at the age of 55.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Leon, you would know that he was the guiding light to his three daughters, Chantelle, Luzaan, Karlien and wife Karin. He became a new grandfather to 3 month old Shiloh Wren who was the apple of his eye. During their few precious months together he was looking forward to watching her grow and becoming the best of friends. He was the type of father who knew with a quick glance which one of his daughters needed his unsolicited advice.
Leon was a man loved and admired by many, who never met a stranger and could light up a room and make you laugh within moments of meeting him. With his quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor and engaging personality he would become your best friend by the second beer while watching a game of football or a UFC fight.
He was born in South Africa on December 21st, 1965 and was the youngest of his five brothers. They grew up in the city of Pretoria where he eventually met his wife Karin. They fell in love and were married in December of 1987 and a couple years after started their family. One thing you may not know about Leon is he played golf on the professional tour in South Africa and was a teaching pro in Germany before relocating his family to the U.S. He would never turn down a round of golf and loved teaching the game to whichever daughter would play with him.
To say he will be missed is a grave understatement, but his legacy will live on through his wife, daughters and granddaughter.
We are asking our friends and community to help raise funds for Leon's funeral costs as well as living expenses for the family. Your love and support to the Fourie's means so much.
As Chantelle quoted from John Mark Green " A fathers love still travels on after he's gone. A treasure hidden in the hearts of his children".
