Remembering Letty

I should’ve done this sooner. But I was hoping things would not take such a drastic turn.
My sister, Leticia Silverio, was admitted to the hospital with complications from COVID-19 on July 22. She was only 40 years young when she suddenly went from riding more roller coasters than any of us to having difficulty breathing. Her husband, Luis, broke down as he shared that they put her in a bed, inside a plastic covering (probably for transferring), and then they were asked to say their goodbyes. After just 12 days in the hospital, she lost her battle against the virus on August 2. Our family had just finished praying for a miracle when the phone rang to let us know that Letty had passed away.
My sister Letty was the heart and joy of our family. When we were with her, laughter was bound to be present. She called her husband, Jose Luis, and their three children her AMORES: Alex (17), Heidi (15), and Adrian (9). They are heartbroken. Alex is going into his senior year. He is amazing at photography, film, music, and is always tinkering with computers. Heidi is in love with the theater and Adrian loves soccer, playing with cousins and video games. Luis feels the greatest gift from Letty are their children and that each reflect pieces of his beloved wife. I believe this is true as many of us have seen how hard they work and their generous spirit. Letty didn’t get to finish college, but her biggest dream and the reason she work so hard was that her children would have that opportunity.
She and her husband opened Cheliz Restaurant in Redlands, CA, on Nov 16, 2016, pouring all their money into making it a success. Ever since it opened, Cheliz has been a popular mom and pop restaurant, and because of Letty’s loving heart, customers soon became family. However, due to the virus, they had to shut down on July 4. Now this restaurant, their pride and joy that they worked so hard for, is at risk of shutting down completely. Without life insurance, the impending ICU HOSPITAL bills are bound to devastate the family financially.
We’d like to help raise money to assist with paying funeral costs, hospital bills, compounding restaurant bills, and house expenses. Let's make it a goal to raise $50K and if the goal is surpassed, and I think we all hope it is, we’d love to give back to Letty by setting up college funds for her children, so that they can continue to live out their mother’s dream for them. Thank you so much for considering helping this wonderful family. Please share this link on social media and don’t forget the hashtag!
