Remembering Lynn: Help us restore the beauty
Donation protected
In the wee hours of the night on October 8, 2021, a fire broke out at my sister's late-1970s double-wide mobile home. We were told that Lynn woke up and tried to escape the fire at some point. She did not make it.
My name is Cindy, and I'm asking you to donate to help my niece, Jennifer, demolish what is left of her mother's home – so she can restore the natural beauty to this property that is so near and dear to her heart.
This was the childhood home of Jennifer and her younger sister. When this house burned, they lost not just their mother but countless memories – nothing could be salvaged after the devastating fire.
Both Lynn and her beloved cat died in the fire. Lynn had adopted "Kitty" from our mother when mom could no longer care for her. It was no surprise that she offered to do this when no one else in the family could. It was Lynn's nature to look after others – both human and animal – despite her own lack of resources.
Because she lives nearby, Jennifer passes by the remains of her childhood home every day. It is hard for her to look. It is hard for her to accept.
There was no insurance to cover the cost of cleanup. And Jennifer has a family and many financial obligations – she cannot afford the cost of demolition.
It’s time for Jennifer to get a fresh start with this little piece of land. To turn this back into a place of beauty instead of destruction. Eventually, she would like to build a home or a small business on the property – once more time has passed to help her heal.
Will you help by donating any amount you can give? In doing this, you will lift the spirits of a daughter. And you will honor the life of a mother. A kind spirit who truly understood what it meant to love her neighbor – Lynn was always there to help those around her who were in need.
It’s true that we can’t fix the whole world. But we can help a daughter. We can honor a mother. We can make things better, one little piece at a time.
Thank you so much for any assistance you can give.
