Remembering Mark: A Veteran's Last Journey

At 7:34 pm on Friday, December 13, we lost the best man I ever knew. Mark L. Brown was a Vietnam Air Force Veteran. Born April 22, 1953, and made it 71 years, he was loved by many in the Englewood, Colorado area. He was an amazing husband to his wife, Lora. She passed away several years ago. He adopted me at 16 years old and took me in to call me his daughter. I’m all he had left. He was so proud of me.
I now have to clean out his apartment. I came down here from my second shift of my new job to care for his final expenses. We came down overnight when we heard he suffered from a massive heart attack. He was sedated and put on 18 different IVs and a pump to keep his blood pumping through his body. During the procedure to look at the blockages in his heart, he coded and went without blood flow to his brain on and off for 45 minutes to an hour. When he gained a pulse again, we would later find out he had no brain activity. As this was the hardest decision to make in my life, I didn’t want him to suffer anymore. His kidneys were already failing, his liver enzymes were high, indicating his liver was failing too.
Anything at all would be amazing; however, prayers for me and those who are by my side through this would be greatly appreciated.
May he rest in peace
