Matthew "Mattie" Lockwood was tragically taken from us on 4/24/2025.
Matthew served in the Marines and deployed to Iraq. He is also an Eagle Scout. He loved to snowboard and the outdoors, and maintained close relationships with his friends and family.
I have known Matthew since he was six years old, and if there was one attribute that I could describe him, it would be "kind-hearted". This by far is one of the rarest and most valuable characteristics to find in a person. Matthew will be missed by all, and no one on this earth can fill the void left by him.
He leaves behind a mother, brother, sister, two nephews, a Marine family, and Troop 778.
Mattie, may you dine with Jesus and wait for us to join you there one day.

The ceremony will be held at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory on Saturday May 3rd at 2pm. 108 E Kinderton Way, Advance, NC 27006
