Remembering Michael McGinn

Michael Christopher McGinn was born and raised in a Christian family. Everyone that knew Mike knew he was most definitely the life of the party - smiled probably more than anyone and was always down for a good time. He did have a wild hair, but that’s what made him, him. Mike is now with one of his beautiful sisters in heaven watching over their baby sister and her son, Kanyon, that neither of them got to meet.

Mike struggled with substance abuse pretty much since he started college at Appalachian State University. The devil got the best of his beautiful, innocent soul.

I ask you to think of all the good memories of Mike just as we have. Mike was the best big brother, son, and friend; raised around all women I’d say he was a pretty good boyfriend too haha. He was so protective, so fun, and so encouraging.. Mike was so much more than his wrongdoings — please remember more so for all the good memories he brought to this earth. He was hurt, he was alone, and so sad. At the end of the day, we all make mistakes, but that doesn’t make anyone’s life better or worse; everyone walks their own path. We are grateful for our friends and family. Even friends have reached out that didn’t even know Mike that well, and that speaks volumes! To Mike’s dear friends - what you’re feeling right now. I didn’t think I would have to rehash it this soon, but it is what it is. It will take more time.. I am praying for all of Mike’s friends just as much as his family members - we’re all family! Please - donate what you can so we can respectfully remember a dear son, friend, nephew, cousin, and brother.
