Remembering Michelle Earl

Donation protected
Writing this still does not feel real, but the last couple of days have given me a lot to reflect on. Two days ago, my mom, Michelle Earl, passed away in the hospital after battling addiction and suffering from mental health issues for the majority of her life. I don't feel it necessary to talk about the demons she struggled with but simply to say this: if you are struggling with something—addiction, depression, mental health, or anything—seek help. She found sobriety through AA for several years and found some success, but whatever you lean on, just find a support system and stick with it. Throughout her life, she raised three boys into men, and even though things were far from ideal, she made it work. I believe my brothers and I are stronger for it.

I still continue to refer to her in the present tense, and I may be distant for a while, so I apologize for that. I have really appreciated the love and support everyone has shown. Instead of a traditional ceremony or funeral, as a family, we believe Michelle would have wanted a celebration of life where we can remember the good times and the happiness she brought all of us.

I have had a few people say she was like a second mom to them, and that warms my heart more than y'all will know. I love you, Mom, and until we meet again, I will always have you in my heart.

**"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."** - 1 Corinthians 10:13¹

Below is the number for SAMHSA and the local AA hotline. I know it would mean the world to her if even one person was able to make the change in their life she desperately wanted.
