Remembering Patrick Schroeder

Over a month ago, Patrick "Pat" Schroeder became ill with pneumonia that ultimately led to complete organ failure. The man who dedicated his life to saving those of others for almost 2 decades as a paramedic, volunteer firefighter, and police officer surrendered himself to the Lord today at 1748 hours (5:48pm).

 

I was blessed to call Pat (and by extension, those he left behind) my family, which is why I am creating this fundraiser. He deserves a memorial befitting the hero that he was, is, and will always be. 

 

Pat was a loving and dedicated son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Regardless of how long someone knew Pat, he treated everyone as if he had known them for a lifetime. For better or worse, no one ever had to question where they stood with him, and that is hard to come by.

 

His amazing sense of humor was like none other; it was infectious and only added to his unique charm. If he is reading this, he is rolling his eyes for sure. But if he loved and/or respected you, you knew it. This is our chance to show him the same, as above all else, this man adored his family.

 

These and other reasons are why I am asking anyone who is able to assist his beautiful family in any way possible. Every little bit counts, even if you can only offer up a prayer or a share.

 

Patrick, simply put, you will be missed. Gone, but never forgotten.
