Remembering Raymi Willka Saldana Rojas

This fundraiser has been set up in memory of Raymi Willka Saldana Rojas, who tragically died recently, in an accident whilst on holiday.

The community is struggling to come to terms with what's happened but would like to support his parents - Jeanette and Carlos (Phaxsi & Kanti) as they navigate through this very difficult time, by donating whatever we can towards the high unexpected costs of this tragedy.

Raymi was a beam of light, in every space he entered. A kind, gentle, well mannered and joyful soul, with amazing musical abilities. Those who knew him, have been treated over the years to watching him grow and nurture his talent. Not only did he have a beautiful singing voice, Raymi played the piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, percussion and traditional instruments such as the charango, zampoña and quena.

He proudly showcased his culture and talents alongside his parents, Kanti and Phaxsi, as one third of the Sagrada Familia. He amazed us, in both live performances and via YouTube.

During his time at Grafton Primary School, Raymi and his equally talented parents would often treat his peers and teachers, to live performances at the school celebrations - with his first performance taking place when he was in reception!

From year 4 onwards, Raymi went on to further grow his talents, attending weekly music lessons with the MEI music school. Eventually gaining a London Music Fund scholarship.

After leaving Grafton, Raymi joined William Ellis Secondary School. Where his character, humility, empathy, academic abilities and musical talents only continued to blossom and shine.

We are all so heartbroken at losing Raymi and are finding it difficult to speak about him, in past tense. Anyone who ever had the opportunity to know him and his wonderful parents, will consider themselves very lucky but will all be feeling the devastation of this tragic loss.
