Remembering Robert Bornstein z”l

On June 10, just four weeks after receiving a diagnosis of Peritoneal Mesothelioma, we lost the rock of our family. Robert was 61 years old and had just retired 8 months earlier after 40 years in the trucking business.

He had dreamed of spending his hard-earned retirement days exploring the natural beauty surrounding his new hometown of Victoria, BC by motorcycle and boat, road-tripping across Canada, tending to his fish and many houseplants, supporting the local Chabad community, and spending quality time with his many friends and family.

As is so often the case, the pain of losing our beloved husband and father has been compounded by the crushing weight of end-of-life and burial expenses. We set up this GoFundMe account to help our family meet these final expenses and honor Robert’s life as he lived—humbly, generously, kindly, and with love.
