Remembering Roe David: A Tribute Fund

To our beloved Rohena “Roe” David, and also known as "Chookie" has passed away in her sleep on June 1, 2024 at the age of 83. Born in Panama City Panama in 1940. She migrated to the United States the age of 13 via passenger ship to be with her mother and family. Roe resided in Washington Heights, NY and graduated from high school, then graduated as licensed Cosmetologist from Wilfred Academy, Bronx NY with all honors and opened up beauty shop in the Bronx NY for over 20 years.

Roe was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Wilhelmina Codling, and her brother, Roberto Codling. Survived by her husband Samuel David of 59 years, two daughters’, Tashia and Tishane “Shane” and with her two grandchildren Michael and Marcus, many uncles/aunts and nieces and nephews.

Roe was a wonderful mother, she was decorated sketch artist and designed many of her clothes, she loved to dance, listened to records, pop and electronic music and loved to be with her family and best friend(s) and extended family.

Mom, Roe, grandma, daughter, sister and friend, you will be missed and may you rest in eternal peace and we all love you greatly and unceasingly.

A private viewing for immediate family for Cremation service will be held through Chubenko Funeral Home Woodbridge, NJ at 10am to Rosehill Cemetery and Crematory in Linden, NJ on June 13, 2024.
