Remembering Ron Avery: Dean Needs Support

Hi, my name is Dean Avery. I’m 25 years old and an only child. Yesterday, I lost my dad, (my best friend, my rock) Ron Lee Avery (54), unexpectedly. This comes almost exactly five years after losing my mom, Ora May Avery (45), to cancer. The loss of both my parents has left me heartbroken and overwhelmed. To top it off, all my relatives live states away and I feel somewhat lost.

I was laid off from Tesla in April 2024 and became my dad’s caretaker in the meantime. I have an interview scheduled with tesla tomorrow. My dad told me on Monday that he was so proud of me for getting this interview, which was the last text I will ever get from him… I feel like I’d be letting him down if I don’t get the job, so I’m thinking I won’t mention his passing to them.

Anyway, first and foremost, I’m asking for your help to give my dad a dignified farewell. Any amount you can contribute will go directly toward covering these expenses, and any additional funds will help me immensely as I figure out what comes next.
