Remembering Sandra Lucas & Supporting Bri

Dear friends, family, and compassionate individuals,

Today, we gather here with heavy hearts to remember our dear friend Sandra Lucas, who passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2023. The shock and grief within our community are immeasurable, as Sandra was a beloved presence in all our lives and was very active with Curvy Chic Closet & Foundation as a volunteer. Sandra was a long-time volunteer with the Tigard Community Food Project. She helped Amy with the pantry when it was at Amy's home (rain, shine, cold, hot) Sandra was there.

Sandra's passing has left a deep void, but our immediate concern is for her 19-year-old daughter, Bri Lerma. Bri is devastated by the loss of her mother, and her life has been turned upside down in an instant. As if coping with the emotional pain isn't enough, Bri and Sandra had just moved into a new apartment two weeks ago, adding another layer of complexity to this already overwhelming situation.

We have come together to launch this GoFundMe campaign in order to provide the financial support that Bri urgently needs. Our primary goal is to raise funds to cover the burial expenses, ensuring that Sandra receives the respectful farewell she deserves. Additionally, as Bri navigates through this difficult time, we aim to alleviate her immediate financial burden by securing funds for temporary storage for her belongings.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in Bri's life and bring her some relief during this trying period. By joining hands, we can provide her with the necessary support to honor her mother's memory and ease the burden she faces.
