Remembering Sandy
Donation protected
Sandy Troup, longtime Ashlawn Elementary employee and a part-time Tuckahoe Elementary pre-k assistant, passed away after a fierce and brief battle with cancer. Sister to Teresa and mother to Jessi and Lydia, Sandy was also revered by her young students.
As a single mother Sandy’s utmost priority was providing for her girls, now college age, who both attended Ashlawn. Sandy’s Ashlawn roles included special education support, kindergarten assistant and most recently library and media assistant. Besides her Arlington Public School positions, Sandy ran the Sunday nursery at Clarendon United Methodists Church, tutored, and provided after school care. She also sold her handmade jewelry.
Sandy was well and widely loved. Her support network is, with this announcement, hereby activated!
Please consider donating to help with final expenses and ongoing support of Sandy’s dear daughters.
