Remembering Shayan Dolikhani's Kind Spirit

Shayan Dolikhani, age 25, left us far too soon on July 15, 2024. He was born on June 22, 1999, and, from the very beginning, it was clear that he was incredibly special. Shayan was a kindred spirit– bright, loving, and generous. His kind heart touched the lives of everyone around him, and his warm smile is etched in our memories.

Shayan graduated as salutatorian from Franklin Academy High School and attended UNC Chapel Hill, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in computer science. Upon graduating, Shayan secured a position at Genesys, where he was currently working as a software engineer. He accepted any and every challenge with a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.

His dedication to his work was inspiring, but it was Shayan’s personal relationships and his relentless love for family and friends that truly defined him. Shayan was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, and loyal friend. He was unwavering in his devotion and would do absolutely anything for those he loved. He made others feel valued and fostered a sense of belonging through his compassion and care. His witty humor and infectious laughter filled every room with joy and were adored by all who knew him.

Shayan was a lifelong learner who was never afraid to attempt new and unfamiliar things. He experimented with many foods and experiences, explored every genre of music, and developed a wide range of interests, including playing the guitar, lifting weights, Muay Thai, and running. He inspired those around him to venture outside of their comfort zones through his tenacity and curious mindset.

Shayan will be deeply missed by his mother, Margarita Dolikhani; sisters, Arianna Dolikhani and Roksana Dolikhani; extended family, and friends. Though he is no longer with us in person, his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories forever. As we say goodbye to Shayan, we must remember the love and joy that he brought into our lives. Let us honor his legacy by living with the same kindness and generosity that he embodied.

Shayan, the void left by your absence is immeasurable. Your time with us was short, but your impact and the lessons you have taught us will be in our memories and in our hearts forever.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Viewing will be on Monday July 29th from 6:00-8:00PM at Bright Funeral in Wake Forest.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday July 30th at 11:00AM with a Rosary at 10:30AM at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.
