Remembering Yolanda Segura
As many of you know, our mother, Yolanda Segura, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 due to complications of COVID.
Our mother was a homemaker for the majority of our childhood. Anything we needed, she was right there. We always had a home cooked meal, and we would always eat as a family every day. She had wanted to be a mail carrier with the US Postal Service for some time and so she tried it out for a few months, but she left as she missed being home with her family.
Later on, once we got older, she started working as a mail handler with the US Postal Service, which she loved. She was there for about 7 years and made so many friends, who she loved and cared for. Our mother was recently excited as our sister, Frankie, started working for the US Postal Service as well, at the same facility as our mom.
Outside of work, our mother was very big on family time. We spent most of all the holidays together. She loved spending her days off with her grandkids. She was always buying a new toy even if they had enough at home. She loved her grandkids so much and she loved being a grandma or “Nana” as Milo would call her.
My mom loved the color purple. Anytime she’d see something in purple, she wanted it. She also was into the Dallas Cowboys and would always talk about them with her son-in-law, Damian.
We are absolutely devasted by our mother's passing. She is survived by three children, three (soon to be four) grandchildren, her father, her sister, and her two nephews.
Currently, services are placed on hold until our sister, Frankie, gets better. We will make sure that we update everyone once we get services started.
In the meanwhile, there are additional expenses that have come up and we are needing assistance with. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.
