Remembering Yung-ling Lilian Chang
Donation protected
With deep sadness, one of our parents from the ANJCS Youth Chinese Orchestra has passed away. Yung-ling Lilian Chang was a beloved piano teacher and community member. She was the conductor for the Mid-Jersey Tzi-Ghi Chinese School’s string ensemble as well as an active member in the school. In February 2019, just a month before she was diagnosed with cancer, she joined the newly formed Edison Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra as the principal bassoonist and performed with the orchestra in Princeton. Her various talents, as well as her optimistic and positive personality, was what made her a wonderful music teacher. Her laugh and bright personality are imprinted and will forever be remembered in all her friend's minds. She is survived by her son, Alex, a beloved and talented young adult in his junior year of high school. Alex has won many awards in all different facets since his elementary school years. He is a hardworking student and like Lillian, he is an incredibly bright and positive community member. Lillian was a proud mother.
We are currently looking to raise money for Alex Tan to not only express our condolences, but also to help support his future endeavors. Aside from being a student, he is also involved in multiple extra-curricular activities, such as playing the Er-Hu in the ANJCS Youth Chinese Orchestra.
