Remembering Michael Papendick

It is with a heavy heart to share my sister, Becca Papendick, has suddenly lost her best friend and husband, Mike, in a tragic helicopter accident today while training as a flight student. 

 

Mike was one of the most genuine, honest, loving, and supportive people we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. His sense of humor was unmatched, and he was one of the rare individuals that always brought light and joy to everyone he crossed paths with. He made a tremendous impact on our lives and will leave an even larger hole in our hearts, but we find comfort in knowing that he passed doing what he loved most - flying. 

He is survived by his wonderful wife, Becca and their precious infant baby girl Aubrey, who will grow up having never known her father and how much he loved her. She was only two weeks shy of her first birthday. 

While no monetary value could ever replace the loss of Mike, we've created this GoFundMe for the purpose of covering memorial fees and funeral expenses. Any and every donation/share made is wholeheartedly appreciated, no matter how small. 

 

To honor Mike, we have two small requests to make: 1) think of him any time you see a zombie this spooky season, because we fondly remember him for his love of zombies; and 2) treat every day as if it's your last, because it very well might be. Always kiss your loved ones goodbye, don't go to bed with unresolved anger, let go of your grudges, and show appreciation because tomorrow is not guaranteed. This is Mike's legacy.
