Remembrance of Ohia Paris

On the morning of April 14, 2022, Ohia Paris tragically passed away from suicide at the age of 17 years old. Ohia was a dear friend of mine and a beloved member of the Campolindo community.

Whether he was on the mat at wrestling, in class, or just hanging out, Ohia always brought joy and tremendous love to those around him. With his huge heart and his signature purple crocs, Ohia left an imprint on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Even the Moraga Starbucks baristas knew his order by heart! He was never shy about letting the people he cared about know how much he loved them. Ohia was always there when anyone needed to talk, no matter the hour - he was truly the most loyal friend.

Ohia was compassionate, tenacious, and witty, all whilst enduring a long battle with mental illness in private.

He will always hold a special place on the wrestling mat, in the classroom, and in our hearts. In remembrance of Ohia and to ease any burdens on Ohia's family, please join me in contributing an amount that is in your joy to give and by speaking out about mental health <3
