Daniel Remine needs a van!

Many of you will remember Daniel Remine. In January 2007, he was involved in an automobile accident which resulted with Daniel sustaining near fatal injuries including traumatic brain injuries, among many others. It has been a long and trying journey since then, and 12 years later, Daniel is still holding his own. Along with God, our loving community, and close friends and family, he is surviving.
Unfortunately, on Feb. 25th, Daniel and my Mom, Debbie, were returning home from his physical therapy session and their car was struck by a truck making an illegal turn. Thank God no one was hurt! But it left their 2003 Ford totalled, which is only worth about $800.
My Mom is a J.C. schools teacher's aid for special needs children, and my Dad, Tom, is retired law enforcement, on disability. Needless to say, they are existing on a very limited income. The loss of this car is devastating to Daniel's ability to travel. In addition to his doctor visits, which include regularly scheduled botox injections, he needs monthly allergy shots, and he's able to make yearly trips to Florida to see family. Suddenly they are without reliable transportation for Daniel.
He has a wonderful power chair. They have been trying to figure out a way to transport it along with him so he could get around independently while traveling (independence has always been very important to Daniel). Due to its weight, a normal carrier attached to the back of a vehicle is not practical. Daniel needs a van that can accommodate his power chair.
My Mom and Dad are getting older, and transferring Daniel from his wheelchair to the car and back is not getting any easier. If my Mom wants to take Daniel to the movies, she will make up to 6 transfers just to make that happen. If Daniel were able to ride his power chair into the back of a van, it would give him independence he has not had since his accident.
Please help me show Daniel that his dreams can come true! The cost of a new van outfitted with a proper ramp is expensive, but I am hoping that this reaches so many people, our goal will be obtainable. So please share this in your networks, together we can make a HUGE difference in Daniel's life for many years to come!
Sincerely,
Bryon Remine and the
