Remus and Hera community dog park

Donation protected
These 2 dogs have changed my life, been emotional support and dependant on me and brought many years of happiness.

Remus (GSD) sadly left us in November 2019. Diagnosed with epilepsy in 2010 which required significant medication and treatment, he developed degenerative myelopathy (a crippling progressive disease) in 2018. He enjoyed the outdoors and sadly could not go out for the later part of his life unless assisted.

Hera (Northern Inuit - think Direwolf!) is now 12 and fortunately very active and inquisitive!

Both dogs have been a major part of my life and I am lucky they found me even though both had issues!

I am fortunate that I have found an area of land ( Approx 3 acres) that has become available and am looking to provide the first dog community park in the midlands. This will include enclosed areas (for those that don't play well with others - dogs or owners!), agility areas and a woodland walk with activities to suit all dog types and temperaments. It is proposed that the enclosed areas will be available for booking and the woodland walk available to the general public and dogs in the community (or further afield if willing to travel!)

Initially I am starting the project on my own. Hopefully in some way, the happiness they have brought me (and hopefully I have fulfilled their lives) can be passed on to future dogs and owners. Our legacy if you will.

Whilst the target is bold, there are many factors to be considered before any construction can take place. Planning, design, equipment, water, electrical, other expenses and of course the plot itself! There are of course ongoing running costs so I would want to ensure it's future.

Given the process involved, it is likely to take 18-24 months before the park comes to fruition. A facebook page is set up for updates and progress.

If we cannot secure a plot of land or the funds fail to reach the target we would like to re-purpose the funds to local rescue charities so please bear this in mind before you make your donation.
