Remy's Dublin Soccer Trip Robbie Keane Cup Tourney

I have a story to share with our dear loved ones, friends, and community.

Our newly 12-year-old son Remy has been given a fantabulous opportunity to play soccer in the Robbie Keane Academy 2024 Cup in Dublin, Ireland this May!

Remy plays for our local Seattle Celtic Premier Youth Soccer Club in Seattle, Washington on their B2012 EA (U12) youth soccer team.

Seattle Celtic is the first-ever soccer team from America to be invited to play in the prestigious Robbie Keane Academy Cup in Dublin, Ireland.

The youth soccer teams from the UK, Europe, and America competing in the Robbie Keane Academy 2024 Cup are hosts Crumlin United Football Club Official, Atlético de Madrid, Burnley Football Club, Everton Football Club, Aston Villa FC, Seattle Celtics, Shamrock Rovers F.C., and Sunderland FC.

This will be a phenomenal experience for Remy and our Seattle Celtic B2012 EA team who’ve been drawn in Group A with the mighty Atlético de Madrid, Burnley Football Club, and hosts Crumlin United Football Club Official.

If we top our group, Seattle Celtic will get the opportunity to play the winners of Group B in the final (Group B consists of - Everton Football Club, Aston Villa FC, Shamrock Rovers F.C., and Sunderland FC.)

In addition to playing in the tournament, over the week, Crumlin United is organizing friendly matches for our Seattle Celtic team with local Irish teams, along with a tour of the Aviva National Stadium.

Travel along with Remy’s soccer team events will take place over eleven days from April 26 - May 6, 2024.

The travel expenses associated with this Ireland adventure are so far totaling: $9,932.68.

This will be Remy’s and our family's first experience traveling to Europe (and Remy and his brother Aylan’s first experience traveling out of North America).

And now the plot twist of the story...

Our family owns and operates a small local family business, Konvene Coffee in Seattle. Rony (Remy’s father) runs the shop solo each day to provide for our family.

Renée (Remy’s mother) has been healing Neurological Conditions that impair her speech, cognitive, movement, and functional abilities, creating a deficit in our household earning capabilities.

Playing soccer in Europe is a long-standing dream of Remy’s. We were thrilled to receive the invitation to journey to Dublin for Remy to have an opportunity to play in the Robbie Keane Academy Cup tournament.

Our family resources lack the elasticity to stretch enough to cover the essential travel expenses for this experience. (During the travel duration we will also need to close our coffee shop with no income generated for our family for the 11 days.)
