Remys Leukemia treatment
Donation protected
My name is Ashley and Im the team mom for the Conway Falcons 10 U team located in Orlando Florida. I’m raising money for one of our star players Remy Oyu. Remy is an energetic 9-year-old who loves football, pokemon and roblox.
On Nov 21 Remy was diagnosed with T cell Acute lymphaic leukemia. This came as a big surprise to his mother as Remy has always been a healthy kid, and they didnt have any family history of cancer
T cell- Acute Lymphatic Leukemia (ALL) is an aggressive cancer in the bone marrow causing lymphatic, spleen and liver swelling. At the time of diagnosis, Remy had a white count over 600K, an enlarged spleen, liver and swollen lymph nodes around his thymus gland. He has undergone a spinal tap and has a pending bone marrow biopsy in the next few days. He has completed 2 rounds of IV chemotherapy thus far.
Treatment of T cell ALL is complex, intensive and prolonged. Remy is projected to need 2 years' worth of chemotherapy. Due to his condition's complexity and illness risk, he can no longer attend school or participate in sports. Remys goal in life is to be a professional NFL player; this is his motivation to fight and beat cancer.
His mother (Gloria) is a single parent to Remy and Sophia (6). She has missed work since this diagnosis and due to the complexity of his condition, will need to devote a lot of time to his fight against leukemia. Remys father is not in the picture and does not help emotionally or financially. Any and all money raised will go towards the care and treatment of Remy and his fight against cancer. Extra funds will be donated to St.Judes in the name of cancer research.
Hello, my name is Ricky, I have coached Remy (#54) on the Conway Falcons team for a couple of years now. As a father of two boys I can’t begin to imagine this kind of a journey. I have seen this young man grow and become a solid part of our team. Football is a very tough sport that requires both physical abilities and mental focus. Remy has shown us he has extreme potential to conquer both. To me football is more than just a sport to play, it helps develop many important facets in life. It takes a willingness to fight and solve problems, doing your job and being part of a team. As he fights through this tremendous journey he and his family need all the support they can get. As he faces his biggest opponent, positive thoughts, prayers and most of all his relentless perseverance will be needed for this ultimate test. We want to see him be able to follow his dreams and lead a strong life. Thank you for anything you can do!!!!
