Renae & Ash's wedding fund campaign
Donation protected
Update: Ash and Renae were able to fulfil his dying wish and be married in an intimate ceremony (not the one described below as his health took a dramatic turn for the worst) just three days prior to him passing away. The funds for this campaign will now go towards supporting the young family left behind - his beautiful wife Renae and 6 (plus one on the way) children. Thank you to all of those who have supported the campaign so far.
Message from Renae:
"Hi everyone. My name is Renae I'm currently engaged to the man of my dreams, Ash, and we have 6 beautiful children with one on the way.
Our life was going great; we couldn't have been more happy. That was Until the day Ash was diagnosed with cancer in his lymph nodes under his arm. He had surgery and radiation to get rid of it. We thought it was all good. We thought he was in the clear, then a month or so later we were told they didn't get it all and it had travelled into his blood stream to his lung. We were devastated...
Ash was then put on a trial drug chemotherapy but after a short period we found out that it didn't work and his lung had filled up with fluid. He has been in and out of hospital ever since. A few weeks ago, we were given the heartbreaking news that he now has stage 4 metastic melanoma on both his lungs and in his abdomen. The doctors are doing everything they can but its not looking good.
We really want to be married before he passes and are trying everything we can to make that happen. Not sure exactly when he will be out of the hospital but Ash has said come hell or high water he will be there to make me his wife.
It would mean the world to us to become husband and wife and celebrate with our children family and close friends. I can't imagine my life without him and the children not having their dad. I fall apart everyt time I think about it This day means everything to us."
Other information:
The Darwin wedding vendors community have shown their generosity through providing many services for free. The wedding will take place late morning on Sunday 27 August. We have a celebrant, hair and makeup artists, videographer, photographer, musical duo, seamstress, fllower crowns, cake, bouquets, event/wedding coordinators, caterer, decorations, all offering their services to this special cause free of charge.
We are still in desparate need of a venue in Palmerston (preferably the one location with green grass and water). Needs to be in Palmerston so Ash can go home easily if too unwell. Somewhere with shade or an inside airconditioned space for the reception would be great. If anyone reading this owns a suitable venue that is available on Sunday 27 August 2017 and would like to contribute please make contact.
The funds being asked for will help cover the cost of the reception venue, drinks and any unexpected costs. Any remaining funds will go to the family to help with medical and ongoing living costs.
Let's help this family at this desperate time in their lives and help them fulfill Ash's dying wish - to marry his soulmate and celebrate this with their family and close friends.
