Honouring Renée Descary
Donation protected
On April 1, 2025 as Renée finished her workday, she was the victim of a senseless and horrible crime that took her from her family and friends.
Because of Renée's feisty humour, limitless kindness and genuine compassion, she has cultivated an enormous community of neighbours, colleagues and friends. This community has commenced a period of equally enormous grief. However, Renée's beloved family, consisting of her two children, partner, mother, sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephews are devastated and heartbroken.
In the aftermath, a new reality and future once never even imagined, has fallen on those Renée loved the most. The challenge they face bears a significant toll emotionally, as it does financially.
Her partner and daughter have decided they cannot return to live in the home where Renée raised her children and have secured a new apartment at a significantly higher cost than that charged at the Cooperative they all used to call home.
In this time of grief, those close to the family are providing as much support as possible. Yet, there is a strong wish to protect them from any stress that might come from their altered financial obligations so the family can focus on their healing and the upcoming legal proceedings.
To that end, this Go Fund Me has been launched with the hopes that anyone who has the desire and the means might contribute something to a fund that will help support this family's way through the next steps in their lives.
Funds raised from this campaign will be used to help Renée's family cover the costs of cremation and remembrance and will help her partner and daughter with the immediate expenses of moving into their new home.
As time goes on, funds raised will help ensure the family gets any counselling required and is able to get legal representation to protect from further trauma throughout the police investigation and pursuit of justice for Renée.
Renée has left behind beautiful memories but also an unimaginable void in the lives of those lucky enough to know her.
