Renew 312 is a Westside based non profit organization that focuses on lifting communities through grassroots mental health programming, neighborhood preservation and walkability on Chicago's Westside. One of our goals is to create plentiful resources and effective initiatives that benefit residents and their ability to access affordable and free wellness resources. A 2011 study done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that household income and poor health are incredibly intertwined. Residents of households bringing in less than $35k experience a 22% increase in poor health whereas households higher than $35k experience a 10-20% decrease.
This statistic brings us to our $5k goal and why this number is significant to us. With all of these necessary programs and initiatives we want to bring to our communities and beyond, safe and reliable transportation is consistently needed. Our first big step as a collective is to provide our students, residents and program attendees with a vehicle we can use to transport them safely to and from retreats and community events.
As you continue to help us reach this goal (and future goals!), we will keep you in the loop on all of our projects and endeavors so you remain aware and feeling good about where these donations are going and how they're benefitting others.
With that said, our time goal is to receive our very last donated dollar by October 15th. We are so incredibly grateful for the support we continue to receive.
