Dear Friends. First I want to thank everyone who supported us in the spring when Tina was first diagnosed with breast cancer and had the surgery that removed the brain tumor that had formed. The surgery was truly a miracle. Tina recovered and had a great summer of pursuing treatment and focusing on her relationship with Christ. Unfortunately at the end of October she once again began to lose her motor skills and it was confirmed that the tumor had returned. A second surgery was not an option and so we pursued other treatments, including radiation and newer drugs that block cancer cells from reaching the brain.
I am sad to say that all treatments have ceased and Tina is now in Home Hospice Care.
Last month I was unable to come to work for more than a few hours 1-2 days a week because of spending so much time going back and forth to the doctors office and the hospital (Tina went to emergency 3 times in 2 weeks). I am slowly catching up on orders; some of which are 2 months delayed. My customers have been very understanding and patient. I appreciate them.
Also it seems when it rains and pours. I myself had surgery for a melanoma spot in October. I am receiving treatment for that now.
Some might think that having cancer treatment, having my wife in Hospice care, and not being able to go to my business should stress me out, but I can say that we are fortunate to have such an amazing support network of family, friends, and churches that have been supportive beyond what I imagined. Many have volunteered their time to sit with Tina for hours at a time just so I could get a few hours of work done. I say Thank You!
We still have a ways to go. I want to keep everyone (especially those who gave to us in the summer) informed of our situation.
First, we covet your prayers as God will never give us more than we can handle. “Cast your burden upon the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never allow the righteous to be shaken.” Psalms 55:22. Second, we deeply appreciate any financial assistance you can offer. The only way we can reciprocate is to say thank you!
