Renold's Survivor Food Drive

Tax deductible
Hello, welcome to Renold North America's annual food drive benefiting The Daily Bread Community Kitchen located in Morristown, Tennessee.

We began our annual food drive event in 2016. Our departments were broken into teams and competed against one another for who could raise the most non-perishable goods to help our community kitchen in their effort to feed those in need. The Daily Bread Community Kitchen is a non-profit organization that runs solely on the donations from the community to operate and feed those in times of need. There are no questions asked when someone comes to eat, there is no need for proof of income or residence, there is a warm place (or cool place! after this summer heat!) to safely enjoy a cooked, hot meal. The kitchen serves lunch and dinner, lunch is served six days a week and dinner is served five days a week, and they average 200 lunches a day and 100 dinners every evening.

If you stop in for a meal, you're greeted with a cup of tea or coffee and are welcomed in with loads of smiles.

When the event started we could fit our collected goods in the back of a pick up truck, since then the program has grown, the competition has grown, and the support has grown. Our latest trips to The Daily Bread have taken flatbeds, trailers, forklifts and trucks to deliver the goods raised by the teams. Over 100k pounds/dollars have been raised by our teams, and Renold matches the donations raised, dollar for dollar (or dollar for pound of food!)

We've been so fortunate to partner with Larry Shropshire and the team at The Daily Bread, year after year. We've had focused lists and the intro to the event has become more and more of a show, each year. We've had years of monetary needs for new flooring, years of bleach and cleaning supply needs, and this year is the year of canned meats, ranch, mayonnaise, and cream of chicken soups. Monetary donations will go to help The Daily Bread refurbish their storefront. The storefront was last updated in 2003 and they've received a quote of $10k for sandblasting, painting, a new sign, new windows, and a mural. Funds raised will be matched and those funds will go towards these repairs and help to keep The Daily Bread functioning and feeding our community for many years to come.

We appreciate your consideration and support of our event through donation, word of mouth, or social media sharing. Our 2023 food drive theme is Survivor!! Stay tuned to see who is voted off the island!

For donations, please list your contact name or their team name in the comments so points are awarded to the proper team.

Thank you!
