Renovate to Educate

"Revival's Fiber Arts and Gatherings at the Little White Church,"  is located in and  on the Greentown IN Historic Trail  labeled #18.   As you can see we have cleaned up and added gravel to our parking area and the main chapel is becoming closer to completing clean-up of debris.  I have acquired more looms, storage racks, tables, wool inventory, and so much more waiting to be moved into the building but that can't happen until the demo and renovation is completed Our lower floor will provides  space dedicated to quilting  with  a large piecing table; tables available for quilting classes or retreats; a small shop dedicated to the various supplies associated with all the fiber arts being taught in the building.  A dedicated dye kitchen  to teach how to dye wool ,yarns,  and other fabrics.  Looms, hand quilting frames, and other tools and equipment on site will be available for rental and  used for classes as well as a variety of juried fiber products from local artisans.   The building has seen better years and has fallen into disrepair requiring restoration and renovation. The amount of funds we  it will take to complete these tasks is estimated at approximately $65,000  addressing interior and exterior issues that have been found through the cleanup process.  We will be utilizing the services of a state certified Architect to ensure that the building meets all codes for Greentown and the state of Indiana for safety and occupancy. There is no reason that this building should not be accessible by all members of our communities so we will be sourcing a ramp for entry at the main door and a stair lift to access the lower area.  All the repairs that need to be accomplished will ensure that the building meets all the needs of those utilizing the spaces and ensure that is a safe and accessible place for all. Having a place to teach fiber arts to future enthusiasts, gaining the knowledge from others who have already grown in their Fiber art path as mentor and teacher ensures we never lose these valuable skills.  Fiber arts teach focus, harness creativity, and  the feeling of pride and satisfaction a person gets when they have a completed project . Currently Revival's outreach programs includes Greentown IN Public library where we are offering virtual classes with materials. We are also  providing art classes once a month for the school year at Acacia Academy. Lesson plans were developed to reflect their years theme of "Restoration".  The structure is an important part of this maker-space and while we can provide off site classes in the interim having a "Home" that is safe, accessible, and with multi-use capability is invaluable.  We NEED your help!  Any donations above requested amount, not utilized for restoration/renovation, will be placed in a  fund for Fiber Arts education on site and community outreach programs in our local communities.  Please Donate today and share, share, share this campaign.
