Renovating a School For Mazar-i-Sharif Youth

Assalamu Alaykum,

We are Bay Area students from California who attended Northstar School when we were young. Last Ramadan, thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we successfully raised $35,000 and built a water well in the mountains of Oujda, Morocco. The Well of Tasmin now serves the entire village, hospitals, schools, and travelers. It sustains vegetation, and wildlife, and bolsters the local economy. And now, as Ramadan has returned, so does our resolve to empower Quran students.

Let's extend our support to students striving to deepen their understanding of the Quran at a local masjid (Masjid Khala Ghul) in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. Many of them come from neighboring villages and sleep at the school. It is important to provide these young Afghan students with a safe and nurturing environment.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated, "The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it." (Bukhari) This quote resonates deeply during Ramadan, a time when Muslims worldwide dedicate themselves to prayer, reflection, and seeking knowledge.

We will personally travel to Afghanistan and renovate the space this summer and the funds raised will be used for the following improvements:
