Renovations for A Bookstore at the Mall West End
Donation protected
Our Website
Avant-garde Books, LLC is the first mother/daughter-owned bookstore in the world. In addition to its online store, the Avant-garde Books "team" has served the SW Atlanta community at the Mall West End since December 2018.
We are excited to share our new location at the Mall West End will be the old Payless space. This "Bookstore Dreams" fundraiser is mainly for much-needed renovations, cleanup, the buildout of a café, spaces for classrooms, and so much more! Our mission has always been not just to sell books but to save members of our community, especially children, through literacy and engaging learning programs.
Our newly renovated space will allow us to:
(1) have engaging, weekly story time;
(2) give greater support to independent authors through book signings and book talks
(3) offer tutorial and enrichment classes (Yes, the new space has plenty of room for this!)
(4) EXPAND our inventory of literature that includes positive images and messages for people of color
(5) add educational supplies and materials for local teachers and school administrators
(6) sell healthy foods and drinks in our café
Your support is APPRECIATED. No donation is too small; whatever you give will help us accomplish BIG things. THANK YOU in advance for helping us do more GOOD in historic SW Atlanta.
The money we raise will buy materials and pay for the labor for the following:
