On the night of May 9th the Eggleston family suffered a tragedy with the loss of Michael "Mike" Eggleston due to a car accident. Michael Eggleston was not only a husband, father & grandfather but he was the head Instructor at Eggleston's Karate Studio (EKS) in Virginia.
Mike was involved in many different areas of Karate - not only did he run EKS, he was a District Director for the sport in Virginia with AAU Karate and a National level Official. Mike embodied the true meaning of Karate and practiced the art/sport since the age of 14! When you look up the term loyalty, beside the definition you would see a picture of Mike Eggleston. He may have appeared a tough guy but he truly had the biggest heart & one of the best smiles! Mike touched so many lives throughout his life & he will be greatly missed!
He is survived by his wife Sheila, children - Aaron (Kayla & 2 boys), Michelle & Mikey. His son Mikey was in the backseat during the car accident and sustained injuries that it is likely he will spend a lengthy period undergoing surgery and recovering there.
