Rent payments -Wife in hospice

My name is Colin Nunn. I am married to Cynthia Nunn (known as Cindy). I find myself with little option but to create this go fund me to help pay rent or my wife will be in a hospice home for her last days, I will be on the street and we will lose everything we own, which isn’t much but has been with us for decades.

Some background.

Nov ‘22 I had bacterial meningitis and sepsis. I was laid off from work while sick. Having been laid off I had to apply for Medicaid and rent assistance, I was fortunate enough to be approved and had three months rent paid. I returned to work part time in March ‘23. The same month my wife was diagnosed with stage three none small cell lung cancer. She has umdergone many treatments and procedures having suffered several complications.

I worked up until August trying to make ends meet and then was terminated from my employ. I was still receiving rent assistance so that was a blessing. I applied for Unemployment Insurance which was a battle in itself. After two months of fighting it was eventually secured except for the first three weeks payments, they refused to pay that, no matter, I was able to sell my motorcycle, a Ford Escape, guitars and amp to raise funds for bills. Since then I have again applied for disability for Cindy, she has been applying for twelve years, but this more recent application was for the cancer and the fact that she is terminal and has been given 3-6 months to live. They again denied her disability due to the fact that she was not in a position to attend an optometrist appointment they had arranged for her. I have appealed that decision. Meanwhile the rent assistance has expired and I have now been informed my Unemployment Insurance is also about to expire. So, in a nutshell, I will soon have zero income, rent and bills to pay and a wife to care for who needs regular medication and constant monitoring. I have attempted to garner help from various government agencies to no avail and am out of options.

I have no issue getting a job, I’ve always worked until this year. But if I work I will not be able to care for my wife in an effort to extend her life some and give her some quality of life.

Please find it in your hearts to donate something, anything or at the very least help share this on social media.

I would have preferred to have this set up so that all donations go directly to my landlord but unfortunately I can only chose myself or a charitable organization.
