Rent Relief for Missfits Store in Lake Highlands
Donation protected
Missfits opened its doors in November 2019 in Lake Highlands, Dallas with the mission of adding a local kids store to our neighborhood. Missfits is a boutique store designed for kids and tweens with products cultivated to nurture the spirit, feed the brain, and encourage self-expression through fashion, art, science, and literature. We also sell a bunch of really cool toys.
We have tried to avoid asking for help as long as we possibly can, but with the continued impacts of the pandemic still ongoing, we are forced to reach out and ask for your help. We appreciate to no end the loyalty from our neighbors and customers, and could not have made it this far without your continued support for our sweet local store.
Alas, with no rent relief from our landlords for any portion of the spring lockdown and only 30% of our Payroll Protection Program loan being granted; we've unfortunately exhausted all of our personal funds. Our store opened only 4 months before the county-wide lock down, and now 5 months later, we're quite frankly amazed and grateful every day to still be standing. So much of that is thanks to the fantastic community surrounding us. We have also worked to cut down on as many expenses as possible; currently, the owners take home no pay or salary and we manage to operate with only one paid employee.
However, rent remains our largest ongoing expense and we would appreciate any assistance that you could provide during this difficult time. Our goal is assistance with the remainder of rent owed for 2020. We humbly ask for your support in any way shape or form you can provide it during this difficult time. We are exceedingly grateful in advance for your generosity.
Stay sane, stay healthy, and stay playful!
Thank you again from your resident Missfits,
