Elderly Neighbor Needs our Help Urgently

Neighbors & Friends,
One of the long time tenants of our condo building is in dire straights. This person has outlived their savings and is now facing eviction (court date is set and looming) at the age of 86. There is literally no money left and no family members left to call. As expected, this person is sincerely heartbroken and afraid. This apartment has been their home for more than 40 years. Our goal here is to raise enough money to pay off the back rent, reconnect the cable and telephone and offer some kindness to a senior citizen who is in need of a friend.
No one likes asking for money however the expenses are too much for one person to cover. We are hopeful that we can rally together to meet this goal in short order. We are asking for two things, please consider giving a small donation to this urgent cause. Secondly, please forward on to someone who would be willing to help. A little bit from all of us will mean the world to one of us.
As Ralph Waldo Emmerson once said, "You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late."
P.S. As mentioned in a late January 2019 update, John Cullimore will oversee the bank account (Chase) for these funds. My husband, John, is a professional money manager and will be able to assist Ruth in keeping up to date with her bills in addition to monitoring the monthly expenses. This has been a challenge for her in the past couple of years. He will keep clean accounting records which will be made available to all donors upon request.
