Repair Good Samaritan’s Truck
Donation protected
Hi. We are Kim and Tammy Rabon-Noyce from North Port, Fl. Please help us repair our Good Samaritan Neighbor Glenn’s work truck! All donations will be used to give him and his family towards the repair of their truck used to rescue us during Hurricane Ian’s aftermath.
On the morning after Hurricane Ian departed our area of Florida, it became clear that our son and daughter-in-law would face many challenges recovering from Hurricane Ian. Their home has significant roof damage, leaky ceilings, an obliterated fence (they have 2 dogs), car damage, etc. They decided to get our two local grandchildren (6 and 2) to stay with other family who live in Pasco county, FL, until electricity returned and initial safety assessments could occur. Flood waters prevented them from driving out, so Kim and I set out walking and waded our way home through waters above our knees (we live 2 miles away).
Once we got to our house, we discovered that we could use our SUV and access the interstate but it was not high enough to make it back to get the grandchildren.
When we asked for help, our neighbor agreed to drive his 4 wheel drive truck through those waters to help us get the grandchildren.
The neighbor’s truck almost made it, but the waters proved too high and now it appears the vehicle is hydrolocked (water got inside the cylinder).
We are wracked with guilt because the family of 5 use this truck to work as handy men. They planned to repair their own home then start offering roof patches and tarping as a way to make money. It is hard to haul plywood without a truck!
Please help us raise money to give this family funds towards repairing their truck - they generously said yes to helping “rescue” our local grandchildren. The family face a significant short term loss to their income since the truck won’t work.
Our area is recovering slowly from Hurricane Ian and we really have no idea of the cost.
Any amount is appreciated as we make a gesture to ensure they no longer feel “No good deed goes unpunished.”
