Repair Kolomotu'a Tonga Primary School

Kolomatu'a Primary School, located on Tongatapu, Tonga, was damaged in the tsunami on January 15th. It serves grades 1-5 in the village of Kolomatu'a on a campus across the street from the ocean. It's a beautiful, if precarious location. My mom, aunts, uncles, and cousins attended this school and it continues to serve our youngest generation who still live on Tongatapu.

As we waited for news about our family.following the volcanic eruption and tsunami, my cousins Siaongo and Ane worried about what had become of their little school that faces the sea. Word came this week from our cousin Saia who is president of Kolomatu'a City Council that the rooms adjacent to the ocean were damaged and materials were lost to water that made its way into the rooms. I'm hoping to show the children of Kolomatu'a that we care by raising funds to repair their classrooms and replace their books and classroom supplies that were destroyed.
