Help Repair our Vandalized Soul Food Truck
Donation protected
On December 6, 2023 we posted to Social Media that the food truck would be closed for repairs. We were driving to get propane and our brakes gave out!
We allowed someone to look at the truck and they told us we needed a specific part to get back on the road.
Because it’s an older model truck, that part was not only hard to find but took a couple of weeks to arrive.
Once the part arrived, the mechanic who was supposed to complete the job not only caused more damage than we initially had but also realized the job was more complicated than he’d thought and recommended we try someone else.
We tried several mechanic shops but the pricing was either way too expensive or the shop didn’t have space to fit a commercial food truck.
After reaching out to several mobil mechanics, we finally found a shop who could fit the truck inside and fix the brakes for a price we could afford.
We made arrangements to meet with the mechanic at the truck and when we arrived the Food Truck was gone!
The city had towed it almost a week prior and placed it in the impound yard.
After finally paying all the fees and getting the truck towed to the mechanic, we opened the doors to find that the truck was broken into and vandalized while on the city’s property.
After going through all the steps of filing a police report, we’ve been left with the bill to pay for the repairs ourselves.
They claim it is no fault to them since the damage was not done by an employee of theirs.
Not only was our generator battery stolen, but our wiring to all equipment, fuse box, etc were all torn from the truck.
We’ve tried to take out a loan for repairs but were told that is not possible at this time.
We understand how tough things are for everybody right now, so the last thing we wanted to do was ask y’all for help. But unfortunately, we have no other options at this point.
We would appreciate any amount to help us reach our goal. We also ask that y’all pass along the link to others you know have enjoyed our food over the years and may miss this post.
We appreciate the love and support y’all have shown us over the years and can’t wait to get back to serving our community.
We love y’all deep,
