Repair Roo’s torn CCL

Hello!

My name is Aidan Persaud, and this fundraiser is to help my dog and best friend, Roo, raise enough money to pay for a surgery to repair her torn CCL in her right back leg. This expense came unexpectedly and is not something I can readily afford at this time. I have been out of work due to my own medical reasons and have only just begun working again.

Being part Labrador, she is prone to bone/hip joint problems and at this stage in her life (she will be 5 soon) it is crucial that I do what I can to make this surgery happen so that I may prolong her life and keep her safe and comfortable for the many years I hope she has left with me.

To me and my family, this surgery is absolutely necessary. The alternative treatment that the vet gave (but did not recommend, nor am I wanting to go with) would be to let it scar over (improperly) and open up the very probable chance that she will develop arthritis early in both her back legs and will need another surgery to correct it later on.

I am in need of assistance making this goal, and the local animal hospital no longer has a surgeon to perform this surgery. I’ll have to go to a hospital a little further away, and even then I’m unsure how much the surgery will cost. They gave an estimate of $8000 but I don’t actually know how much it will be. If this money is raised, it will be used to cover any costs regarding her surgery. Any leftover funds would be put towards her aftercare and medications/accommodations for a happy, speedy and safe recovery.
