Rebuild-Repair Chimney Rock Village
Donation protected
Torrential flooding and an unprecedented amount of rainfall in the month of May 2018 has severely damaged the beloved Riverwalk path in Chimney Rock Village as well as the Gathering Place Amphitheatre, site of the annual outdoor concert by the Symphony of Rutherford County.
This beautiful trail, which winds down the Rocky Broad River behind the Village businesses is a key tourism draw and a favorite place to cool off in the summer. It is also a favorite fishing spot for hundreds of anglers. Originally designed and hand-built by volunteers, the trail has already been repaired from previous flood events. It is an expensive, labor-intensive endeavor.
Additionally, the Gathering Place Amphitheatre, the Village's only spot for concerts and events, has also sustained serious damage in the way of mudslides and flood damage to a storage building and the grounds around this popular venue.
Now is the time that the people and business owners of Chimney Rock Village need our support. They have limited financial resources, but an incredible spirit of hard-work, volunteerism, and dedication to a place that is loved by thousands of visitors year after year.
If you can help support the rebuilding and repair effort to the Riverwalk Path and the Gathering Place, please consider a small contribution.
We are hoping to raise at least $10,000 toward this effort.
Proceeds will go directly to the Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association which manages, maintains, and promotes the RiverWalk Trail and the Gathering Place Amphitheatre.
