Repatriation of Mortal Remains of Christo Mathew
Donation protected
Dear Members of the Mar Thoma parishes in Australia
With profound regret, we inform you of the sad demise of Christo Mathew (23), who was an international student at the University of Queensland in Brisbane.
Christo Mathew is a member of St. Stephens Mar Thoma Church, Mayur Vihar, Delhi.
He drowned at Fisherman’s Beach on North Stradbroke Island on Sunday, October 1, 2023. He was on life support at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and he was pronounced dead at 4:21 p.m. on October 8, 2023. His father and uncle were beside him at the time of his death.
In this difficult time, we need to support the family of Christo Mathew, and this is what prompted us to organise this fundraiser to meet the repatriation expenses to take the mortal remains to Kerala, where he would be laid to rest in the family tomb.
Any donations, no matter how small or large, will be greatly appreciated, and the funds raised will be used only for repatriation. The money raised will be transferred to the bank account of Eldhose Varghese, the cousin of Christos Mathew, and this will enable him to defray the expenses related to repatriation. We request your support in this matter.
In view of the urgency of the repatriation, please make your contributions on or before Friday 13th October 2023.
