Replace cancer patient’s stolen prosthetic leg
Donation protected
From Irene: It's been a rough month then, this, I am fully aware life sucks, but Atticus was just beginning to feel better and get back on his "feet", he doesn't deserve this. If anyone has any other ideas, we are open to them. And no, rental insurance doesn't cover it.
Prosthetic leg and knee with a running blade stolen from a young pediatric bone cancer above-knee-amputee. They would really love to have their leg back. Stolen from the downtown Portland, OR area. Unfortunately, since it has so many pieces, there is no serial number, but you can bring it to Hanger Clinic on N Williams (or the police station) and they will know who it belongs to, or you can contact me.
A new prosthetic leg is like $8,000. The knees themselves are not cheap, then all the leg parts and the blade itself. They are all custom made to the patient, plus the prosthetist who understands all the science of the body and building the leg. Things I've learned - legs are complicated.”
Please donate if you can!
